The African Music Festival celebrated in the year 2010 it´s 10th Jubilee. Our festival should serve and be a platform for artists who do not have the opportunity to play and also to present their talents.
Feel free to register when you play Latin, Afro Grooves, Reggae Salsa, Zouk, World Music and more.. A jury will choose out of all applicants, the 3 best to play on the 4th of August at the African Music Festival Stage on the Schlossplatz .
A jury made up of professional Musicians will select the winner during the live performance.
Participants
The contest is open to all age groups. Your band must have a name and be a solid group which rehearses regularly and play concerts. Our Contest is for amateur bands, therefore no professionals should apply. Each band can only register once, multiple registrations are not allowed!

You must please submit your application with the following documents:
- Fully completed Contest Application Form
- CD with at least 5 titles (The cast on the CD must be the same as the live performance to be at the contest!)
- Photos
- Video / DVD
- Technical Rider + Stage Plan
- Copy of the payment receipt for the application fee of EUR 25, - € (the amount must also be actually received in the account)
Running order of Contest
16. May 2011 - the application deadline. The date of poststamp.

20/06/2011 - Announcement of finalists.
04/08/2011 - concert finalists and announcement of the winning band at the Schlossplatz in Emmendingen.
Legal action to challenge the jury is excluded. The jury is not obliged to give reasons for its decisions. The jury works independently and each of the jury is obligated to put into secret decision-making.

- 1st place € 200,- + 2 days professional recordings in the Calren Studios
- 2nd place € 350,- Cash
- 3rd place € 150,- Cash
